What a time to be alive!

 

Human societies have become expert at so many things. And it worked: we've taken entire populations out of difficult living conditions.

 

We understand our world better and better, not the least its living parts.

 

We've even detected and halted a major envrionmental threat: the thinning of the ozone layer. Thanks to science, civil society, policy and industry coming together.

 

But we can do better.

 

What the 20th century economy managed to develop has come at an increasing cost for societies and for Nature, which has started 'sending invoices'.

 

The benefits have not trickled down to everyone.

The environmental pressures have not tricked out.

 

 

The dougnnut figure is clear: we are exceeding the planet's carrying capacity, while not meeting people's needs.

 

This won't last!

 

 

And remember: Mars sucks. This is our only home!

 

A new paradigm

The economy of the 21st century is the one that will get us back within planetary boundaries (yes, we're way out of them today),

while providing wellbeing for all.

 

 

At GlassWings, we believe that this will unfortunately not happen ...
